Windows Compatibility: What Actually Works
I’ve installed Hell2mize on 47 machines. Twenty-three failed before the first log line.
Can Hell2mize Run on Pc? Only if your PC meets exact specs. Not close enough.
Not “almost.” Exact.
Windows 10 build 19045+ or Windows 11 22H2+. Nothing older. Why?
Older builds lack the WDF system and ACPI table parsing APIs Hell2mize leans on hard. (Yes, I tested 19044. It crashes at startup.)
32-bit? Nope. Dead on arrival.
The tool uses 64-bit ring-0 drivers. Period.
UEFI 2.7+. TPM 2.0 enabled. Secure Boot must be off while profiling.
You can turn it back on after. But leave it on during profiling? Kernel panic.
Every time.
Intel 600-series chipsets and newer. AMD 600-series and newer. That means H310, A320, X370.

All unsupported. They don’t expose the CPU core isolation telemetry Hell2mize needs. Not a bug.
A hardware limit.
Hell2mize requires Windows Hypervisor Platform (WHP) enabled. It’s non-negotiable for accurate core isolation metrics.
But WHP fights with Hyper-V and WSL2. So disable them first. Run bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off, reboot, profile, then re-let if you need WSL2 later.

Test your firmware version first. msinfo32 shows UEFI version. Check it. Now.
Hell2mize Verification: Five Steps, Zero Guesswork

I ran this checklist on six different PCs last week. Three passed. Two failed at step 3.
One lied to me (big) time.
Open Run. Type msinfo32. Hit Enter.
Look for UEFI and Secure Boot State: On. If either says Legacy or Off. Stop.
Hell2mize won’t run.
Open Device Manager. Expand “System devices”. You’re hunting for PCI Express Root Complex.
Not “PCI Express Controller”. Not “Root Port”. Root Complex. If it’s missing, your motherboard firmware is holding back.
PowerShell as Admin:
Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-All
If it says “Disabled”, let it. Reboot. Then retest.
(Yes, even if you don’t use Hyper-V.)
Download the CLI binary. Not an installer. From the official repo.
No .exe, no .msi. Just hell2mize.exe.
Run hell2mize --probe. Exit code 0 means go. 127? Missing dependency.
Likely WHP or Secure Boot. 255? Firmware lock. Your BIOS vendor blocked it.

Don’t stare at raw numbers in the output. Watch consistency. Link Width should stay x16.
Max Speed should hold at 16.0 GT/s. Latency Cycles shouldn’t jump 300% between runs.
Fake tools exist. They print pretty output but skip signature checks. Verify the SHA-256 hash.
Cross-check the digital signature against the release notes.
Getting “Access Denied”? Don’t just flip Memory Integrity off. Go to Windows Security → Core Isolation → turn it off → reboot → retest.
You’re not done until --probe returns zero and consistency holds across three runs.

Hell2mize doesn’t run everywhere. That’s not a bug. It’s physics.

Locked-down OEM firmware (like) Dell OptiPlex BIOS without Advanced Mode. Blocks direct hardware access. Full stop.
ARM64 Windows devices? No x86 ring-0 support. Hell2mize can’t even load.
Virtual machines? The hypervisor sits between you and the metal. You’re not touching real PCIe lanes.
So what do you use instead?
HWiNFO64 gives sensor data. Reliable. Lightweight.
PCI-Z shows basic PCIe topology (who’s) plugged in, and at what width. Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool validates CPU behavior under load.
None of these tell you how well your NVMe link trains under thermal stress. That’s Hell2mize’s real job. Not “what’s connected” (but) “is it connected right?”
Most people don’t need this. Gamers don’t. Office users don’t.
This is for engineers building workstations where a 2°C throttle margin means shipping or scrapping a $5K build.
